LATYNEX Labs — Software Comparison & Data Tools Platform

A public software comparison site and the internal publishing platform behind it, built so that every price and fact carries a source and a check date.

The public site is an early public beta.

LATYNEX Labs case study: software comparison site and internal verification platform

Business challenge

The problem it solves

Software pricing pages change often, use different units and are easy to misread. Buyers need comparisons they can check, and a publisher needs to know where every number came from, when it was last checked and what is safe to publish.

Solution

What LATYNEX Digital built

One engineering case across two surfaces: a calm public reading interface that shows the source and check date beside every value, and an internal platform that makes provenance a database invariant and routes every change through an explicit verification workflow.

What it demonstrates

What this shows we can build

  • A public site and the editorial back office behind it: catalogue management, a fact-verification queue, a guide editor and a source register.
  • Data discipline in code: every value carries a source and a check date, pending revisions never replace public values until verified, different currencies are never converted and different units are flagged.

How the same capability could serve another business

A business that publishes product, price or technical data could get a public site backed by an editing and verification workflow rather than a loose CMS.

Web Application Development

Key capabilities

What is in it

What we built

  • Home with search, area browsing, buyer guides and a recently verified list
  • Category pages with sort, range and multi-select filters
  • Product pages with key facts, plans table, features and sources
  • Two-product comparison with not-directly-comparable handling
  • Workflow cost calculator with example scenarios
  • Editorial guides with sources, related reading and author card
  • Trust pages: methodology, editorial policy, affiliate disclosure, corrections
  • Internal catalogue management, fact-verification queue, guide editor and source register
  • Scheduled source monitor, freshness scan, content audit and link check

Capabilities in the code

  • Verified, pending and source-changed labels on every value
  • Different currencies are never converted and different units are flagged
  • Calculator states what is not modelled
  • Database-enforced source provenance
  • Pending revisions that never replace public values until verified
  • SSRF-guarded link checker

How it works

From input to outcome

  1. 01

    Every value has a source

The database refuses a public value that has no source and check date.

  2. 02

    Changes wait for an editor

Proposed values enter a verification queue where an editor opens the source, compares it with the public value and verifies or rejects it.

  3. 03

    Only verified values go live

A value is shown as verified only after an editor has confirmed it; everything else is labelled pending.

  4. 04

    Checks run on a schedule

Scheduled jobs monitor sources, scan for stale data and check links.

Technical approach

How it is engineered

A Next.js 16 and React 19 application in TypeScript with Tailwind CSS 4, Drizzle ORM and PostgreSQL. The same codebase serves the public site and a private editorial console protected by argon2id passwords and mandatory TOTP two-factor authentication; database triggers and constraints enforce source provenance, scripted jobs run the scheduled checks, and Caddy serves the site over HTTPS.

Status and limits

What this page does and does not claim

  • The public site is an early public beta and is not indexed by search engines.
  • Some values are labelled pending or source changed on the live site and are not presented here as fully verified.
  • Prices are third-party vendor data and change. No affiliate revenue or approved programmes are claimed.
